It’s Been Cold Enough!

January 13, 2014 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

Guess what? Last night was cold enough to make some new snow! We love it when we can keep adding snow to our already good conditions. Once again, props to our state of the art snowmaking system and snowmakers for making it possible for Bear Mountain to have the best snow conditions in Southern California.

The rest is here:

Winter is Coming!

November 5, 2012 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

This week’s weather is starting to hint towards winter, with cooler temps and a chance of SNOW on Friday! If the forecast holds true, we may even be able to start snowmaking this week! We still haven’t set an opening date, but continue to check back as temperatures drop and snowmaking begins for winter season info. Learn more about our innovative snowmaking system HERE or watch Snow Summit’s segment on the Travel Channel.

2 Inches of Fresh Snow Plus Snowmaking!

December 1, 2011 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

Snow Summit received 2 inches of fresh natural snow and we have also been making snow since early last night.  We have packed powder conditions andthe snow coverage is good on Miracle Mile, Upper Summit Run and the Bear Bottom Beginner Area.  Today’s forecast calls for even more snow, and the snowmaking looks favorable for the rest of the week. Although high wind warnings are in effect, Big Bear is not typically affected as we are not in the passes or canyons where the strongest winds occur.
