Winter is Just Around the Corner

Now that the Bike Park is officially closed for the summer season we can really start getting excited for the winter season. Just like Bear Mountain we’re ready to make snow! The snow guns are up on the hill ready to go, now we just need Mother Nature to cooperate and bring us some cold dry air! At this point Snow Summit and Bear Mountain have no set opening date. As soon as we have an opening date we will have it posted here on the website as well as all our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@Snow_Summit)

Snow Season is Just Around the Corner

Winter is moving in on Big Bear Valley! Our most recent storm left us with a few inches of snowy goodness but its not quite enough for us to open for the season. There are more storms on the horizon and hopefully that means snow-making weather will be here before we know it! Typically we open mid-late November depending on weather and conditions. Once we are open for skiing and snowboarding we will open our reservations lines so you can ensure your spot on the snow for the holiday season.

Snow Summit Received 1-3 inches of Snow

Last night’s quick snow storm left us with 1-3 inches of new snow on the ground.  The forecast for the rest of the week looks like it is going to warm back up to the 60′s during the daytime.  Although mother nature seems to be playing games with us it is still not enough snow to give us a good kick start to the season, but it sure is getting us really excited about the upcoming winter.

Winter Sneak Peek

Wednesday nights’s snow storm was just a tease of what’s to come this winter. We received 4 inches of snow over night and while it unfortunately is not enough to allow us to open the slopes for the winter could it possible be a sign that winter is coming early

Less than a Month Out!

The countdown to the 10th annual Hot Dawgz and Hand Rail snowboard festival is on! Park Staff has been hard at work all summer preparing for the event and the course is starting to take shape. The dirt is moved, most of the features are completed and now time just need to pass more quickly! Kick off the 2013-14 winter season with 40+ of the top jibbers competing for cash prizes, live DJ’s, food and drink specials (we hope you like hot dogs!) and Booth City with tons of giveaways & prizes!
