Winter in Big Bear

February 15, 2012 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

Old Man Winter stopped in Monday, bringing us 2-3 inches of natural snow. The cold, dry weather has been great for snowmaking the past couple of nights and to top it all off, we’re expecting another storm to roll through today, bringing us even more fresh snow.

Sunday Funday

January 22, 2012 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

Yesterday’s storm cleared out early and left us with the perfect conditions to make some new snow overnight.  We’re looking at mostly sunny skies and a high of 46, but don’t put away your heavy jackets just yet.  Old Man Winter will be back tomorrow, possibly bringing several inches of natural snow .  Have fun today and think snow for tomorrow!

Hello, Winter!

December 1, 2011 By Bear Bear Ski and Board Rentals

Updated as of 12/01 at 7:15am Good morning!  Looks like your dancing worked.  Bear Mountain received about 2 inches of natural snow overnight and this is just the beginning; even more snow is forecast today through Saturday.  We had a great night of snowmaking and it’s  expected to continue throughout the week.  Today’s high is 35 degrees and we’ve got machine groomed packed powder on Park Run and Rips Run.  Although high wind warnings are in effect, Big Bear is not typically affected as we are not in passes or canyons where the strongest winds occur. Bundle up and have fun!
