We could see some lingering clouds and perhaps even a little snow today as this front moves out and we have a return to sunny skies and temperatures in the 40’s. Perfect weather to sneak away for a day of mid-week skiing or riding. In just over a week we have received 16-20 inches of natural snow and have had six nights of snowmaking allowing us to offer mid-winter conditions in the first week of March.

The Snow Is Wrapping Up And The Sun Is On It’s Way
Sunday afternoon we had a storm roll in that stuck around through Monday night and dropped 9 inches of natural snow. The temperatures also allowed us to make snow through the storm and an additional night as well.

Great Week For Mid-Week Riding And Looks Like More Snow Is On The Way
We had a blast today making some turns! We were able to reopen Chair 9 for top to bottom terrain due to the almost foot of the fresh natural snow we received yesterday and also thanks to our world class snowmaking system! Tomorrow is on point to open more terrain as we have already kicked on the snow guns now that the temperatures are dropping! Tomorrow we will have beginner terrain as we plan to open Chair 7 and that also means that we will be starting to host lessons here at our resort! It’s looking like this cold weather plans to stick around for awhile so we expect to be able to open more and more terrain as we lead up to Christmas! So if you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, make your plans to come up to Big Bear for the holidays! Forecasters are sticking to their guns as of this morning and still calling for a major winter storm to roll through the region with the kind of cooler, drier air behind it that we love to make snow in! Things may get pretty stormy for a while. The National Weather Service predicts wind gusts could hit 50 mph as a front moves through

Yup that’s right! We plan on making snow as early as tonight and we expect some natural snow too! Temperatures are dropping and we plan to make snow all weekend long and into next week so we could all be riding the white stuff soon. Stay tuned for Opening Day information
