NBC’s Olympic Coverages dug into the history of snowboarding and found themselves in Big Bear. Always the pioneers of the industry; we were one, if not the first, resort in the nation to welcome snowboarders onto the slopes. In the first years snowboarders were only allowed to ride midweek.

January is National Learn a Snow Sport Month and to celebrate we will be offering FREE rentals with any beginner package through the end of the month. While California as a whole longs for snow we are sitting back and taking pride in our snowmaking system. When mother nature won’t cooperate we make the snow ourselves. With one of the largest state of the art snowmaking systems in the world we like to consider ourselves some of the best snow-farmers in the nation! End 2013 With A Bang

We have a number of events beginning this week, starting with our annual New Years Eve party! DJ Club George will be in spinning records all night while the signature cocktails flow! Did you know that any Bear Mountain pass is good for night sessions at Snow Summit? Summit has scheduled night sessions all week and every night at around 5 they put a fresh groom on the park run! (Westridge) Zak Hale is home for the holidays and currently shredding what our Park Crew has set up.

Winter Break at Snow Summit

Thanks to a solid 8 hour snowmaking run late Christmas night our conditions have recently improved. We have plenty of terrain available for all types of skiers and snowboarders looking to spend some time on the slopes this holiday break. From steeps on the east side to terrain parks on the west side Snow Summit has something to offer you and your family.
