It’s a beautiful snowy day in the Big Bear Valley! With the recent storm that has passed through the area not only did we receive a few inches of fresh natural snow, but the cooler temperatures have opened the door for snowmaking to start. When the snow guns are on, the sounds of them pumping out that snowy goodness can be heard for miles from the resorts and is another sure sign that the winter season is just around the corner.

Winter Wonderland Returns
Last night we received a light dusting, but it is currently cold with flurry’s falling faintly and a forecast packed with snow. Weathermen are calling for natural snow all weekend, and snowmaking conditions are looking better and better! Chains ARE required on highway 38 and 18 to and from Big Bear

Good Morning.
Cold weather looks like its moving in! Just as predicted, temperatures have fallen overnight and clouds have accumulated overhead. We will keep you updated as we gather more info.

Winter weather is on it way to Big Bear with up to 8 inches expected though this evening and into tomorrow morning. Here at the Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair, we are waiting to see what weather comes with this storm brings before we can determine whether we will be open this weekend for hiking and mountain biking

Winter Weather is Coming!

3rd Place Park!
The Snow Summit Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair will be open this weekend October 19th & 20th and October 26th and 27th. Following the Sunday the 27th we will be open on a weekend by weekend basis and will determine a closing date depending on weather and conditions. Sky Chair and Bike Park Hours: Saturdays 9am-5pm and Sundays 9am-4pm.

Sky Chair Open Tomorrow
The Scenic Sky Chair and Mountain Bike Park will be open this upcoming weekend. The weather is cool and the dirt is so fun right now, so make plans to visit Snow Summit before the winter season begins! The 20th will be last day to rent bikes here at Snow Summit

Bike Park Open this Weekend!
Wednesday night’s snowstorm brought us a sneak peak of what is to come this winter! Mountain Bikers and hikers need not worry, while we did receive 4 inches of snow this will not effect the Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair today! Mountain Bikers: Trail Crew is calling for an epic day! Friday’s shoveling efforts worked and for the most part the puddles have all dried on the trails. As the sun begins to melt some areas of the trails they may get a bit muddy
