NBC’s Olympic Coverages dug into the history of snowboarding and found themselves in Big Bear. Always the pioneers of the industry; we were one, if not the first, resort in the nation to welcome snowboarders onto the slopes. In the first years snowboarders were only allowed to ride midweek.

While California as a whole longs for snow we are sitting back and taking pride in our snowmaking system. When mother nature won’t cooperate we make the snow ourselves. Still trying to finalize your New Years Eve plans? Join us at Snow Summit December 31st and ring in the new year. The annual Torchlight Parade is a Big Bear tradition and will begin at 7pm

Snow guns are in place and currently awaiting cold weather to arrive! With a drop in temperature and humidity Bear could be open and as little as 3 days from the start of continuous snowmaking. curious about how we make REAL snow

C’mon Cold Weather!
Snow Summit’s Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair will be open through the 27th for hiking and biking! Following the Sunday the 27th we will be open on a weekend by weekend basis and will determine a closing date depending on weather and conditions. As we prepare for the winter season we need to close down the bike rental shop.

Wednesday nights snow storm brought us a sneak peak of what we are in for this winter! Mountain Bikers and hikers need not worry, while we did receive 4 inches of snow this will not effect the Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair this weekend! We will be open from 9am- 5pm tomorrow and 9am-4pm Sunday.
