End of Season Summer Party

Grab your friends and head up to Snow Summit for one last weekend of mountain biking (and hiking!) fun before the slopes are covered with that snowy goodness and winter is officially upon us. This will be the last weekend the Bike Park is open before we close down the trails and turn on those snow guns. To celebrate a great summer we’re throwing an end of season party! We’ve got $2 draft beer specials, a DJ spinning and some awesome prizes we’ll be raffling off Sunday November 10th and more! In honor of Veteran’s Day,  we will be offering  F REE  Scenic Sky Chair rides or a full-day mountain bike lift ticket to active & retired duty military personnel with valid ID Sunday November 10th.

Last Weekend for Mountain Biking

This weekend will be the last weekend for hiking and mountain biking at Snow Summit. Make your plans now to come up and enjoy the trails one last time before we close down and skiers and snowboarders take over the slopes. Hours for this weekend are 9am-4pm both Saturday and Sunday November 9th and 10th

Snow Season is Just Around the Corner

Winter is moving in on Big Bear Valley! Our most recent storm left us with a few inches of snowy goodness but its not quite enough for us to open for the season. There are more storms on the horizon and hopefully that means snow-making weather will be here before we know it! Typically we open mid-late November depending on weather and conditions. Once we are open for skiing and snowboarding we will open our reservations lines so you can ensure your spot on the snow for the holiday season.

Snow Summit Received 1-3 inches of Snow

Last night’s quick snow storm left us with 1-3 inches of new snow on the ground.  The forecast for the rest of the week looks like it is going to warm back up to the 60′s during the daytime.  Although mother nature seems to be playing games with us it is still not enough snow to give us a good kick start to the season, but it sure is getting us really excited about the upcoming winter.

Winter Weather is Coming!

Winter weather is on it way to Big Bear with up to 8 inches expected though this evening and into tomorrow morning. Here at the Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair, we are waiting to see what weather comes with this storm brings before we can determine whether we will be open this weekend for hiking and mountain biking

Winter Will Soon Be Here!

BRRrrrRRRrr! The nights are getting longer and colder, many mornings we’ve been waking up with frost on our cars and those snow guns are now strategically places around the resort. This could only mean one thing… winter is getting closer! As soon as weather permits we will begin making snow, both here and at Bear Mountain, let’s just hope Mother Nature will give us a hand! As soon as we begin making snow we will have a better idea of our winter opening day.

Open Through the 27th!

Snow Summit’s Bike Park and Scenic Sky Chair will be open through the 27th for hiking and biking! Following the Sunday the 27th we will be open on a weekend by weekend basis and will determine a closing date depending on weather and conditions. As we prepare for the winter season we need to close down the bike rental shop.
